Colors of water, play of light,
messages of duration
For the artist, in this case a painter, to live, to grow up and to mature in Krajina landscape, in magnificent color of peaceful and unpredictable lines and surfaces, in ambience of persistent forms of the past and presence, is permanent inspirited basis for his creativity.
In the landscape of this region essential characteristic, regarding pulsing of life, makes color of water and light woven in whirlpool of the river as well as in her silent and inevitable transience. Here, in this region, the river, in many periods of life and for whole life, stays unforgettable and unique. Since birth, she presents with emeralds and pearls every person from Krajina, steel with her restless rapids, depths, whirlpools and main curents. How much of it he could adopt and keep for short or permanent, depends of his personal finishing as well as of matrix of social - cultural activities.Artist is in uninterrupted connection with natural and spiritual qualities of immediate life flow.
Painter Ahmet Ibukić has accomplished necessary interaction between personal inner dynamism and subjective experience from color of water and presence of light. That interaction is superior layer of long bearing inner requirement along with maturing of idea while seeking for art expression on this subject. Analytical admission to structures of color and light on the water and in the water is emphasised in the present phase.
However, theme is more emphasized. It is the Una River - her light and color, her herbage, moss, sediments and whirlpools. It is art processing expressed as inspired colorist without classical drawing. Subjective experience as union of emotional and rational is defined by flickering from light blue to darker structure of blue color. It is a perceptive union of strong water movement in shallow and deep areas, then over the objects in water covered with moss, but also woven with fine embroidery thread of water herbage from mosaic treasury of Una s emeralds. Ibukić gets closer and listens water flow by color, light and line. An undetermined nuance of yellow color with desertion in blue - green and brown appears with penetration of white surfaces.
Light penetrates into water stream and into restless layers where the river, for the moment, is hushed her roar and where new union of color rises. Water whirlpools with emphasized red color are more immediate trace of delivery and dying, rising and vanishing, but also of past rebellion and warring on the river and in the river, by her banks and her environments. Ibukić uses more techniques like oils, acril and pastel to approach more immediately to the water movement and penetrating light. He combines acril and oil very often. He has used pastel to emphasize more complicated areas of the river depth and water steam. Lines of determinate moving direction express it. That rhythm, is in most cases elusive, but also present through color and move as expression of emotional flow. Few works in pastel technique are made more peaceably expressing depth quietness below dark green sediments.
It is completely recognizable that Ibukić, with this exposition, has announced wider artistic expression on this theme. We are also directed to this by one lower number of canvas works with usage of different materials from the river and banks like sand, stones, fish scales, moss and herbage.
